Are you looking for a strong growth segment in IT?
The U.S. K-12 education market, rapidly expanding with a predicted growth to more than $6.07 billion by 2028, presents significant opportunities for IT solution providers in supporting digital learning and smart technology integration.
This growth is “by schools shifting from the traditional blackboard approach to integrating smart technology into learning environment,” according to a study by analytics firm Mordor Intelligence. “The learning trend encompasses a broad range of activities, tools and services that aim to improve the educational outcomes of students.”
Some of the growth was driven by a chain of events stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, where countries all over the world—including the U.S.—closed schools and began leveraging eLearning where they could. It also exposed weaknesses in the online learning space, including accessibility.
Tech companies have been working to make K-12 eLearning more reliable and easier to access. In front is Schneider Electric, which offers a range of IT solutions for education.
It has been reported that more than 70 million K-12 and college students in the U.S. are learning through online platforms, and Schneider Electric provides the IT backbone needed to support this large-scale online learning??.
Schneider Electric has developed a three-stage strategy for engaging K-12 IT solutions:
A short-term stage focuses on expanding a school district’s IT capacity to meet its own demand, including load and infrastructure assessments. If more capacity is needed, it could be added.
A medium-term stage focuses on maintaining system health, including servicing and maintaining systems, managing service contracts, planning for the replacement of outdated equipment and examining whether the current system can do the job.
And a long-term stage that rolls out Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and makes plans for new IT capacity as it will be needed down the road.
For partners of APC by Schneider Electric, many of its products and services are eligible for E-Rate discounts provided by the U.S. federal government to K-12 schools, which means solution provider customers in the space could receive deep discounts under the program.
Another analytics firm, Adroit Market Research, projects 20-percent growth for the K-12 IT market in the U.S. and sounds bullish overall.
“The K-12 education technology industry will develop in the future years as a result of rising knowledge of technology's many advantages,” the firm said.
