Schneider Electric has strengthened its EcoStruxure IT Network Management Card with advanced cybersecurity certification, enhancing its ESG-focused solutions for secure, sustainable data center management.
The advanced cybersecurity certification for Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure IT Network Management Card 3 (NMC3) signifies that it meets rigorous security standards, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats in data centers. This certification enhances the security and reliability of Schneider’s ESG-driven solutions, supporting more secure, and sustainable IT infrastructure.
It’s an industry first in achieving IEC 62443-4-2 SL2 certification for its DCIM network card, reinforcing Schneider Electric's commitment to secure, sustainable IT management.
This certification, validated by testing service provider TÜV Rheinland, ensures that the company’s data center management systems are well-protected against cyber threats. The NMC3 card also meets additional security standards, showcasing Schneider Electric’s dedication to safe and reliable IT solutions.
The NMC3 enables remote monitoring and management of data center infrastructure, positioning it as a frontline cybersecurity solution that safeguards critical power and cooling systems.
According to the findings of the recent Allianz Risk Barometer 2024:
Staying Ahead of the Top Risks
“Cyber incidents (are) the top global business risk,” the report notes. “... Businesses and the wider economy are now reliant on digital services and infrastructure... Almost everything is now linked to technology. But once you are connected, it opens the door to hackers to steal data or threaten disruption for extortion.”
More to the point for sustainability, cyberattacks pose a threat to a business’s ESG compliance, Allianz reports:
“Cyber security resilience ranks as firms’ most concerning environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenge, as breaches can impact data integrity, operational transparency, and the protection of sensitive information,” Allianz found.
Schneider Electric has set a new standard in data center security by earning a top-level cybersecurity certification for its EcoStruxure IT Network Management Card 3 (NMC3).
To make managing security easier, Schneider Electric introduced the Secure NMC System Tool, simplifying firmware updates by sending automatic notifications and speeding up the update process by up to 90 percent.
Schneider Electric’s Senior Vice President for EcoStruxure IT, Kevin Brown, emphasized the impact of the new certifications: “With the IEC 62443-4-2 SL2 and ISASecure SDLA cybersecurity certifications, Schneider Electric is leading the industry with this dual certification helping to reduce risks to critical infrastructure.”
