Information technology has been able to scale up and down for generations, but so has sustainability - a point that Schneider Electric demonstrates with its product line.
Now, the company highlights how scalable its product lineup can be with its new Schneider OffGrid - a portable, one-off power unit that combines multiple power sources, including solar, into a single, take-with-you electric supply.
Although Schneider OffGrid is billed as primarily a consumer device, solution providers may find it a critical offering for customers whose workforce is - as the product says - off-grid. And the company said that, in addition to the solar capability of the solution, it reaches sustainability in other key aspects as well.
“Schneider OffGrid reduces waste and environmental impact by being constructed from 60-percent post-consumer recycled plastic and shipped in packaging made of paper cardboard and paper pulp, with the box being 100 percent recyclable,” the company said in a statement.
Earlier this year, Time Magazine named Schneider Electric the world’s most sustainable company.
In part, Time said: “It has not only set ambitious targets to reduce its own emissions — carbon neutral by 2025 — but also helps its customers reduce emissions and become more energy efficient through its sustainability business.”
The company has put sustainability at the forefront of its extensive product lineup, which includes its EcoStruxure platform for IT, data center, and power management.
IT solutions that scale both up and down are critical. This scalability ensures that sustainability goals can be met across diverse applications, from large infrastructure projects to personal, portable power solutions. Schneider has built into Schneider OffGrid power management, renewable energy support, recyclability, and flexibility.
In business and enterprise IT engagements, solution providers may look to Schneider OffGrid as an example of what the company’s solutions bring to the table when it comes to sustainability.
